Data & accuracy

App intelligence is only useful if you can trust it. Here's how Appetrics labels what it knows, what it estimates, and what it doesn't know.

Three labels

  • Observed

    Observed

Measured directly: store listings, ratings, chart positions and search rankings we've seen ourselves, or numbers from your own store account.

  • Appetrics estimate

    Estimated

Modelled: downloads and revenue for apps you don't own, and search demand. Shown with ranges where we have them, and never presented as fact.

  • Demo data

    Demo data

Generated examples used for demos and testing. Always labelled, and never shown on the live product.

How we keep it honest

Missing is missing
When we don't have a number, you'll see “—” or “Data unavailable”, never a zero that looks like a measurement.
Every number knows where it came from
Each measurement is stored with its source, when it was collected and how sure we are.
Evidence for every recommendation
Each suggestion shows the data behind it, and which parts are facts versus our reading of them.
No fake causality
When your grade improves after a change, we say “after the change”, not “because of it”.

Your private data stays yours

Growth Grades and opportunities are built from public and estimated data only, so one founder's private numbers never shape what another founder sees. Numbers from your own store account are shown only to you, and nobody can see which apps you've connected.
